After graduating with a BS in Biology from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Dr. Matthews went on to receive his DMD from the University of Alabama, Birmingham, School of Dentistry.

Dr. Matthews has received post-doctoral education from the Pankey Institute and studied dental implant placement and restoration at the Medical College of Georgia and the Misch Implant Institute.

He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.

When Dr. Matthews is not in the office, he enjoys a range of outdoor activities including waterskiing and wakeboarding.
